Roman Turyanyn - an honored humorist

Roman Turianyn

He is the only out of all members of "Pikkardijska Tertsia" who was not born in Lviv. It was Mukachevo, Zakarpatska oblast (region) where he was brought into the world on 5 May, 1970. His childhood was overfilled with music basics, tours with parents and endless visits of great Transcarpathian masters of vocal music at their home.

Probably Roman inherited this musical gene long since as his ancestors were well-known wedding musicians in the neighborhood. His parents "officially" acquired the status of musicians: Roman's father is a famous conductor, the Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, his mother is a teacher of chorus conduction. Roman didn't go against the family tradition and started mastering correct chords on piano at a music school. The next educational step was Mukachevo Pedagogical School where Roman managed not only to attend lectures at music department but also participated in all student experiments. Neither of the band at this school existed without him doing an active part. A forced pause in his creative work connected with military service raised a question: "Is there a life without music?"

Roman managed to complete the army service and give the correct answer for the question. That is why an active freshman appeared at the conducting faculty of Mykola Lysenko Higher Institute of Music in 1991. Constant searches of realization of his ambitions brought Roman to a vocal formation "Pikkardijska Tertsia". Their work together began in1993 and continues up to now.

Roman carries out a non-formal but very important mission in the formation - if a humorous anecdote is swapped among the friends or a funny situation takes place somewhere his infectious laughter immediately dissolves into every spot. The worst thing that can happen is to make him laugh on stage.

Roman is married to Nadiya, a violinist. So they need to arrange their tour schedules at home to know when to perform and when to stay at home with two sons, Vasyl and Yuriy and a daughter Marichka.
